• Orphans & Widows Association/Dareecha-e-Noor (OWA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization  dedicated to aiding the most disadvantaged women and orphaned children in  Afghanistan. In 2010, HRF established a Learning Center at the OWA school in Kabul. This multi-purpose facility contains a library and computer lab, and provides a space for collaborative and individual study. Building on the success of the Learning Center, OWA and HRF began a separate and even more ambitious project in 2012, the Homaira Rahman School, which is jointly operated and funded (costs evenly divided) by both organizations and offers a well-rounded curriculum and quality instruction to 100 students in grades 1-6.  The school welcomed its first intake of students in September 2013.
